Sundar Manoj Hembram is a well known story writer of Santali. He lives in Bandel, West Bengal and is an engineer in the Indian Railways. ‘Jubdi Disamaren’ ‘Rebel’ is a new collection of his stories. The stories of Sundar Manoj portray various aspects of Santali society and highlight the vivacity of the Santals in particular. His stories have been translated into Hindi, Bengali and English and many stories have been published in the Sahitya Akademi Journal including Santali, Bengali and Hindi magazines. He himself is a competent translator and has translated many important literary works in Santali and in English. He is also part of the editing team of Santali magazines ‘Jugsirijol’ and ‘Nava Ipil’.
